Started my vacation today. Today I will be just relaxing, tomorrow I shall go grocery shopping for the weekend, and over the weekend I will be at the Tuska metal festival.

You know how the air smells when there is a thunderstorm coming? There is that smell here and it is pretty darn strong. Checked the weather radar and yep, there is a huge thunderstorm heading this way.
@matigo Usually auroras are photographed during the winter in the far North, which has reduced the external light (sun, moon, artificial light) to the absolute minimum. However, now that the Spring equinox is behind us, the sun is below the horizon only few hours, making things a lot more complicated… But there were a ton of great photographs taken during this couple of days.
@matigo No. When I was young and lived with my parents we did see them every winter as there was less light pollution etc. Now that I live the capital region there is so much light everywhere that it is almost impossible to see them. Also, I have never seen them this late in Spring as the sky is still pretty well lit by the sun for hours after it has set. For example, this photo was taken after we came back home at mignight. That blue in the Northwester(!) is indeed lit by the sun 3 hours after it had set.
@variablepulserate I have. When I was young and lived further North we did see them every winter. But I have never seen them this late in Spring.
The Spring took a leap last week only be caught by a cold spell this week. And now it is snowing again, and the forecast says that it will snow for the whole day tomorrow. Luckily I don’t have any urgent businesses to take care of during the weekend. I got the winter tires changed to ”regular” tires last Tuesday…

@matigo I have not done any analysis. But I can guess what it would reveal: I post really seldom and the most common topic in my blog posts is that I promise to write more often. Which I obviously did not do as life threw a few curveballs at my direction every single time I had made that promise…
