Another week, another blizzard. This one is forecasted to end tomorrow around noon, followed by a few hours’ pause and another blizzard. Last week there was no blizzard, so winter needs to catch up.

Also, there will be a major strike tomorrow and the day after, let’s see how well those will get cleared…

I hope so too. The antibiotic drops ordered on Wednesday actually made the infection worse, and now I have antiviral drops that I need to apply every hour for a couple of days as well as a bunch of pills.

Waiting at the local eye clinic’s ER. I have an eye infection that got worse when I applied the eye drops the doctor ordered on Wednesday.

Considering the fact that the winter lasts for 4 months (with temperatures that can be well below –20°C), it is not that energy efficient to warm the streets or parking lots. It would be nice, though.

I just spent an hour clearing the car from the snow (the parking lot is not covered) and that was not enough…

Not dangerous, annoying mostly. We usually get 15–20 cm of new snow with each blizzard, but the things is that the society does not stop here. The kids have to go to the school, the adults go to work, etc.

Expecting a blizzard to start in a couple of hours. Again. This would be the second or third blizzard this year. And we are only halfway through January.

No, not even in Finnish. Unless that is the only thing I need to focus on. 😆

Also, what I read is 99% fiction, so the books are not overly complex to begin with. But there is a big difference between a 300-pager in Finnish and a 1000+-pager in English that also has some funky ”dialects” and story-specific words and phrases.

I try to read for 20 minutes in the morning while having breakfast. Then I read in the evening if I happen to have time, and that can range from 5 minutes to an hour.

It also depends on the book how fast I can complete it. If it is ”easy to read” (that is, it is max 400 pages, in Finnish, and does not have a complex plot) it will be over in a week or so, if I can read it every morning and evening.
