Jussi's 10Centuries Playground

We have had ”a tradition”¹ to visit Stockholm every summer. This year, due to the COVID-19 shenanigans and Sweden having worse situation than Finland, we didn’t go there. Instead, we opted to go to Mariehamn, the capital of the Åland islands². It is a lovely small town, worth visiting (on a lovely summer day like today) if you have a chance.

1. We have done it in two years in a row, hence it is already a tradition.

2. While Åland islands are an autonomous part of Finland, they are closer to Sweden than to the Finnish mainland. Also, the official language of the islands is Swedish. Funky, isn’t it?

@matigo Learning new things along the way while working on that repo is also pretty nice. Today I learned how to unit test Bash scripts. I have never done that before, but it looks pretty nice. 😊

My vacation has been relaxing. Luckily there is still 2 weeks to go. 😎

Dusted off a Github repository I have planned to work on since, well, 2011. Nothing major, but something nice. Also, I think I will create another repo for some basic Android things I have been using in every single project I have worked on so far.

Apparently Google is once again trying to create a Slack/Teams/etc. killer. I have lost the count of how many chat and messaging solutions Google has created (and then killed) over the years. Probably a dozen.

@matigo Not the fastest animal on this planet but definitely faster than one would think. I can imagine the General thinks twice before acting, at least that’s the impression I get when watching the General do mayhem in the terrarium.

@matigo Not as excited as we parents are. 😆 They do like to give the General food and such, but they do not spend long time just watching the General do things.

We got a new family member about 2 weeks ago:

@matigo I surely will. Unfortunately it has been really windy the past couple of days, so I haven’t been out that much yet. But there’s still almost 4 weeks of vacation left, I would guess I will have enough time to spend outdoors. 😊

Another month, another issue with the car. This time it is nothing major, just the exhaust pipe being a bit loose and thus resonating and creating some unwanted noise.

And yes, I have been looking for a new car. I am on vacation and have nothing better to do. 😊
