@matigo Yes. The talks are super vague and their titles and the hype they get is overpromising compared to the value they actually provide. And I can say this based on 2 years' experience.
Alrighty then… Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow I will be attending Slush Music and I have not even taken a look at the program. Maybe I should. Though the talks are not that interesting, to be fair.
@matigo I believe he doesn't find this project sexy enough. He is the PO of the customer applications too, but this internal app doesn't seem to evoke enough feelings for him.
@matigo In my case, the client I work for has put a PO that doesn't seem to care about this project enough to help us out…
@matigo I think there are docs, but what that data actually needs to be is not mentioned anywhere. Also, nobody wants to take the responsibility for the questions we have.
Lovely. My backend guy needs to work with some over-engineered API in one of the major services. The API needs some data but nobody seems to know what the fuck that data should be.
@jws Usually they mean the same. For example, Matinkylä means ”Matti’s village”. In Swedish that is ”Matts by” that gets shortened to Mattby. Languages are weird.
@jws Also, there are three metro stations that have a name in English too. Those are the Central Railway Station, Helsinki University, and Aalto University. I think you will understand why those stations have English name.
@jws Ha! Nope, that’s just the wall. ?
Swedish is the second official language of Finland. If a place has different names in Swedish and Finnish they both need to be there.
Oh, also this finally happened. They opened it on Saturday, but I took the first ride yesterday when I came home from work.
