Indeed. Luckily it is only a flu, as that means it should be manageable.

I hope so too. The second Covid test was also negative, so this must be some nasty flu.

Let’s see. The younger daughter is having fever (she got tested today), and the older son seems also be feverish. The youngest, who was sick already on Thursday, has nothing but running nose.

4/4 kids sick. One has been tested for Covid (negative), another will get tested today. Fingers crossed.

I don’t care about job titles and such, as I work to get the shit done. However, I admit it still feels pretty nice that I am now officially a Software Architect after having worked in that role for a couple of years already.

Now I can joke that I used to be an experienced developer, now I am both a doctor (not that kind of a doctor) and an architect (not that kind of an architect). 😆

Schools started on Wednesday. No Covid exposures, yet. Let’s hope it stays like that. 😬

Also, 2/4 of kids got their first vaccine shots today. Our third child, the one with asthma, will get his shot on his 12th birthday in mid-December, as the vaccine has been approved for 12-yo and older. Of course, if it gets approved to be administered for children under 12 before that, he will be getting it as soon as possible.

Well, we have not been anywhere for that long, so the match must have been gotten through the wall. For example yesterday we did not go out at all (it was a rainy day), so we for sure could not have been exposed.

Wife got a COVID-19 exposure notification. The only scenarios where she could have gotten exposed for continuous 15 minutes at max 2 meters (which is the threshold for the notification) would be on Monday at work or yesterday when sewing next to the wall against our neighbor. At work she didn’t see people for that long and they kept their social distances. But it is possible that there would have been someone working one floor above her who got it. But then again, I have received matches with a device of that informs of an infection last night when my phone was close to that wall against our neighbor, so it is very likely that she has it.

We are pretty used to the noise from commercial airplanes as we live by a descent route to Helsinki Airport. However, the past couple of days we have heard fighter jets flying by1. They are apparently doing some test runs for the Air Show happening in Helsinki this weekend.

  1. For which my wife and I were used to when we were kids as we both lived relatively close a Finnish Air Force base. Therefore we do recognize the sound of a fighter jet…

I actually managed to move my second shot earlier than the original reserved date. The reason why I wanted to move it was that the schools will start next week and we want to be sure that we adults would be as functional as possible should the shit hit the fan…
