Due to the news of my father I apparently can’t fall asleep tonight. 😕
@matigo It will be a huge change in their lives, and that is an understatement.
My father had blood clots in both of his legs earlier this year. They were operated and the left leg recovered well. The right leg, on the other hand, had complications and it needed to be operated a couple of times more. Unfortunately, those operations did not clear the complications and yesterday the leg had to be amputated. He is in the hospital now, and hopefully the recovery will start smoothly soon.
This will be hard thing for him as he has lost his ability to move around like he has used to. In spite of his rather unhealthy habits (smoking, drinking, fat and salt heavy foods) he has been quite active with his free time. Now all that comes to a halt as all those activities have made him walk a lot.
This also means other major changes in my parents’ way of living, starting from moving as they live in an apartment house that has no elevator. I will be visiting my mother next week to list down the things that need to be changed.
@matigo Didn’t buy them this time, we already had a lot of them in the fridge. They are a pretty nice snack especially on hot days like these. Which is also the reason why baking is not an option.
@matigo The original was good, though very 90s movie. The sequel, well, it explained a few things of the aliens but otherwise it was pretty meh.
@matigo I would guess it is getting bored by the constant stream of ”news” that is thrown at us all the time. I also find the news cycle today to be uninteresting and boring, so you are not alone with that feeling.
@matigo They are. Luckily there is plenty of blueberries in the forest that starts just 100 l from our home. Also, the Finnish ”everyman’s rights” that allow everybody to pick them freely is pretty nice. 😉
