Just in case you are interested, if you minimize your Android app (that is, minifyEnabled is set to true), you need to keep the (model) classes you parse from JSON using Gson in the app's ProGuard rules (that is, -keep class foo.bar.classpath.** {*;}). Apparently nobody minimizes their apps because this isn't mentioned anywhere in Gson's documentation.

Ho hum. Got bitten by yet another undocumented "feature" of Android+Gson combo. Apparently Google assumes that one just needs to know these things in advance to get them work.

It's all about the potential (growth etc.)…

@kdfrawg Not my original, though. I think knows the joke from where I got that.

Something like that. I got that from a joke where the phrase (of a poem, I'd assume) "island, island, grassy island, grassy island's bride" was asked to be translated to different languages. That is what it would be in Swedish.

Ö, ö, hö ö, hö öns mö.

Well, there's a lot of crazy in Germany too. It's just that the other countries have upped their game lately to mask it.

Shame on them. That's a good strategy. Better to have multiple options, there's a bigger chance at least one will go through.

I've been (mostly) away for the past few weeks, so I may have missed the news regarding the position at NPM Inc. you applied for. Did you get the job or did they miss their chance to get an awesome support dude?

Could be, I haven't followed any news regarding that. And to be honest, I don't care anymore. I won't be buying an Android device for myself ever again (I have always gotten my Android phones from work, so technically I haven't bought any). The reasons will be listed in an upcoming blog post.
