@matigo They haven't figured out how to implement certain tools for web sites that they already have in place for Android and iOS apps. I would say that Google doesn't get web services, but that would be sound like I would be mean…
@matigo Well, there's the lack of design (or the lack of following the guidelines Google is now providing), then there's the compatibility things the devs need to do to support old(er) Android versions1, and then there are these small undocumented differences I seem to encounter every now and then.
Using the compatibility features may lead to different results than when the devs do not need to have the compatibility support and they can use the more modern platform features.
The Daily WTF Android: When creating a dialog to notify a user about a certain thing, apparently there is a huge difference how that should be done when the activity1 has an action bar2 and when it doesn't have it. I think I will take a break now…
The view that fills the screen, for those not familiar with the Android development vocabulary.
The bar on the top that contains a title, options menu, sidebar menu, etc.
Working remotely again. This time our older son is sick, he has fever and most likely a flu.
Damn it. The feature tweak I need to add to the app does not play nicely with the analytics we want from that feature. Either we need to modify the data architecture or pass on the needed parameters in a way that is possible. The latter seems be the better option, but I'm not completely sure exactly what parameters I need to pass to get all parameters.
@neilco I like doing long multiplications by hand. Yes, I'm a pervert like that. ?
@matigo That's from a free(-to-play) iOS game called Trap Adventure, one of my colleagues informed me.

@matigo It is worth the rental fee. I liked it quite a lot.

I snapped the first photo yesterday evening when I went home. The second photo was taken this morning (not from the same spot though, but you get the point). The temperature swinged from –5°C to +5°C during the night and the snowfall turned into rain (the strong winds stayed the same).
