Are you referring to the Fastelavn comic? We do celebrate something similar but with very different traditions (actually they are somewhat similar to what they have in Swedish for this fest). So, no, I don’t have a hat with ears. ?

I got it as a Yule present in 2016. So 2 years. It showed some wear and tear quite early already, but now it finally broke.

Ordered a new, nice looking band for my Fitbit1 from Amazon. It cost me €12, postage included. There were no brick and mortar stores in Finland that would have bands in their selection and all the Finnish online stores had only not-so-nice options starting at €25.

  1. The one it has now is breaking apart. I am not happy about that. At all.

Seriously? Geesh…

Speaking of Icelandish and Danish: https://www.youtube.com/watch

Written Danish is somewhat understandable (it's basically just Norwegian with some funky spelling here and there), but spoken Danish… That's just a nightmare.

Aye. The best thing was that I actually understood what they were talking about without much extra effort. I found that quite amusing. But then again, I like Nordic languages. I wish I would be able to speak and write Swedish more often.

This morning I overheard 2 older ladies talking in a metro car. First I thought that they were talking (Finnish) Swedish simply because I understood pretty well what they were talking about. It took me a couple of minutes and a few funky words from them to realize that they were actually speaking Norwegian.

The plot thickens, indeed! ?
