@bazbt3 I must say that even 4–5 generations old iPhones are still good. Can't say the same for any Android device.
@bazbt3 The answer is simply yes. They do work well for at least 4 years (like the iPhone 5 that my older son uses now), though they may need a battery replacement at some point.
