@skematica Oh dear, I pushed you to the rabbit hole. You won't get out very soon, I'm afraid. ?

In the mood for some fine Swedish prog metal in the form of Pain of Salvation. But alas, I don't have time to listen to music now. Let's hope the mood stays on also tomorrow.

@kdfrawg There is, but I'm not sure what it will say. But my (as well as my wife's) common sense says that because they are product names they should be written as they are originally written.

Indeed. I find it weird that they do write other proper nouns correctly, but these are the only exceptions. From now on I will write their name wrong if I see them continue to use the incorrect spelling.

@kdfrawg These are the 2 "top" newspapers in Finland (one in Finnish, another in Swedish), so otherwise their language is top notch. They seem to have some weird issue with these Apple products.

//

@kdfrawg This was not a rumor reported as a fact, it was just a listing of the most sold phones by the three top carriers here in Finland. They constantly wrote iPhone as Iphone. I don't understand why they still keep on writing it like that. It's a fucking proper noun, there are no rules in Finnish (or Swedish, for that matter) why that should be modified in any circumstances.

Lord Dampnut ?

News editors who do not how to write iPhone, iPad, and iOS properly… shakes head

Dum-di-dum. Either his bosses will roast him or they are his friends and make your life miserable. I'm sure I talk on behalf of everyone that the former will happen.
