While I do read news in Swedish1, reading a full novel in that language2 was totally different experience. It took me a while to adjust my brain to read the words in Swedish and not in English, but once I got that done I was able to read the book quite fluently.

  1. To be precise, the news I read are using Finnish-Swedish, or Moomin Swedish (muminsvenska), a dialect of Swedish used by Finns.

  2. My tertiary language, even though it was the fourth language I studied. The third was German, but I have not used it that much ever.
