I promised you a story. It also kind of tells why I have been busy the past few days. Here it is.
Remember when I mentioned maybe 2 weeks ago that my Product Owner was pissed off1? Well, he got over it and tried to push the project forward by giving me a deadline for this week’s Wednesday. I was supposed to get certain things done for a demo, which meant that I didn’t have much time to do other things while at work2. I managed to get those things done for the demo in time. Everything was ready when I left from work on Tuesday evening. Come Wednesday morning and the final checks before the demo. Nothing works. The app itself was working fine, but it couldn’t get data, which was kind of the whole point of the demo, from the server. While investigating the problem, it turned out that a certain essential physical device that handled routing and load balancing of requests to the corporate backends was busted. That meant that all apps, including mine, that were using a testing backend didn’t work. Guess who was very, very unhappy with that? Not the PO, no. I was. Big time.
Partly because the project was not progressing as fast he had expexted. And also partly because I hadn’t done his work.
That also meant no chatting with you.
