I feel like I have shared only negative things with you lately. Apologies for that.

Now I will share a positive thing. Today I went to the movies with my wife and our boys to see the LEGO Ninjago Movie. It was funny, though in a different way than the LEGO Movie or the LEGO Batman Movie.

The more I have been involved with software development, the more I find fellow developers to be whiny idiots.

@kdfrawg That was my response when the fault was found out.

The cursor appears in the correct place when one dismisses the keyboard. Maybe that could help you track down the root cause.

Yep. Safari on iOS11.

You are probably aware of this? fa4ba272-9488-42bc-ba1d-91601250d0ea

Not at all, not at all. The device is still down and I still can’t get all the data I am supposed to get, so progress has not been great for the past 3 days.

I promised you a story. It also kind of tells why I have been busy the past few days. Here it is.

Remember when I mentioned maybe 2 weeks ago that my Product Owner was pissed off1? Well, he got over it and tried to push the project forward by giving me a deadline for this week’s Wednesday. I was supposed to get certain things done for a demo, which meant that I didn’t have much time to do other things while at work2. I managed to get those things done for the demo in time. Everything was ready when I left from work on Tuesday evening. Come Wednesday morning and the final checks before the demo. Nothing works. The app itself was working fine, but it couldn’t get data, which was kind of the whole point of the demo, from the server. While investigating the problem, it turned out that a certain essential physical device that handled routing and load balancing of requests to the corporate backends was busted. That meant that all apps, including mine, that were using a testing backend didn’t work. Guess who was very, very unhappy with that? Not the PO, no. I was. Big time.

  1. Partly because the project was not progressing as fast he had expexted. And also partly because I hadn’t done his work.

  2. That also meant no chatting with you.

I surely hope it would have been that kind of busy. More details in the story I promised to share with you.

Gah. I have been damn busy the past few days. I still have one story to share with you, but now I’m too exhausted to do that. I promise I will tell it tomorrow.
